About Me

My name is Melissa and I am a 25 year old actor in Chicago.

Hire meeee!
That is my fancy shmancy headshot. I don't always look like that. In fact, I look more like this...

This pizza's huuuuuggeee!

Or this....
Heyyyy it's mah birttthhhddayyy!

I recently moved to the city in August of 2010 from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and I am getting of taste of living on my own. It has its ups and downs, but for the most part, I seriously do love it. Because I am near this every day…

That would be the beach. Lake Michigan. Beautiful in the summer and fall, scary cold in the winter. And who is that in the picture beside me you ask? This guy…

Hi! I'm Conor! I'm also an actor. You should hire me, too!

We've been together for about 5 years.
We're awkward together.
He takes me out for banana oat pancakes on my birthday, which is all I wanted for my 25th.
Yummmm

I have a seriously amazing big Italian family. They are crazy and I love them. They think I’m crazy because I’m a vegetarian and have been for about 4 years now. Why? Because animals have feelings, yo. No seriously, I was in tears by the end of the movie “Fast Food Nation” and that really helped me not want to eat meat ever again. I haven’t looked back since and feel great. No regrets!
I’ve always had an interest in fitness and nutrition since I graduated highschool back in 2004. Before that, I really didn’t care about nutrition or working out. In fact, I enjoyed going to rehearsals for my plays and choir class than going to practice for poms. In fact, I would make my mom stop at a Wendy’s after a pom’s practice so I could “re-fuel.” Gross, right? I know. I loved food. Too much. I mean, I’m Italian it comes with the territory!
I started to workout on the treadmill a bit and watched what I was eating towards the end of my senior year. I wanted to look good for prom. I noticed the difference right away and haven’t looked back since. I loved the way exercising, working out, and eating right was doing for me and still does for me. My nutrition (and education about it) has improved over the years, but not without ups and downs of course. I still do experience them all the time but with each down I know there will always be an up. It’s all about looking on the bright side of life. I’ve only recently begun to kick my fitness regimen up a notch, really pushing myself, and even finally doing a 5k, something I had never done before in my life!

Cupid's Chase 5k

It’s all very inspiring and I hope to inspire others. This is still a learning process for me, but I love challenging myself every day. It excites me!
And then my family wonders why I never went into nutrition…
